1. Keep hands clean and dry
When removing the precision bearing from its packaging, the operator's hands should be kept clean and dry, as sweat on the hands can cause rust, and gloves may be worn if necessary.
2. Ensure good lubrication
The dismounted precision bearing should be greased and oiled immediately, and the greased precision bearing should be mounted without contamination immediately after dismounting, without grease and oil. Grease must be added to the gap between the cage and the outer ring of the bearing during filling. It is better to add grease to 30% of the cavity for precision bearings and 20% of the cavity for high speed precision bearings.
3. The package should be sealed.
Precision bearings should only be removed from their original packaging for cleaning prior to mounting. After removing several sets of VIC sealed precision bearing packs, the pack should be sealed immediately as the protective gas from the VIC paper can only be maintained in the sealed pack.
4. Proper cleaning
Grease-filled precision bearings cannot be cleaned before mounting, while non-grease precision bearings must be cleaned before mounting. After cleaning, they should be dried and immediately treated with anti-rust oil or grease to prevent rusting. The following detergents can be used for degreasing and cleaning precision bearings: aqueous detergents - neutral, acidic or alkaline detergents, check compatibility of alkaline detergents with aluminium parts before cleaning; organic detergents - acidic and anhydrous kerosene, light petrol (not motor petrol), Freon 12 substitute or chlorinated hydrocarbon detergents. When cleaning precision bearings, the following must be observed: environmental protection, health and safety at work; the method of use of the cleaning agent must be in accordance with the product instructions in order to avoid hazards.
