How to repair and maintain roller bearings?

Maintenance of bearings:

For mechanical equipment, when the bearing is broken down, it is necessary to record the appearance of the bearing, check the residual quantity of the lubricant inside the bearing, sample the lubricant and clean the bearing simply by selecting kerosene or gasoline when the bearing is disassembled and overhauled. 

Clean the disassembled bearing, and carry out fine cleaning after advanced cleaning. Place the bearing on the container and place the metal mesh as the bottom to prevent the bearing from directly lifting the dirt at the bottom of the container. When performing rough cleaning, it is necessary to prevent the bearing from rotating together with the dirt to avoid damage to the rolling surface of the bearing.After removing the adhesive and grease with a brush, enter the finishing step. Place the bearing in the cleaning oil and clean it while rotating. When cleaning the oil, it should be replaced in time to ensure the fine washing effect. In order to judge the dismantled bearing can continue to be used, it is necessary to check after the bearing cleaning is completed. Inspection items for bearings include: bearing foreign matter, bearing clearance, bearing dimensional accuracy, bearing frame wear, mating surface condition, rolling surface condition, raceway surface condition, ball or roller operating conditions, etc. For non-separable miniature ball bearings, use one hand to flatten the inner ring of the bearing and confirm whether the bearing can run smoothly by rotating the outer ring. For the circular roller bearing, check the raceway surface and the rolling element of the outer ring.

2. Bearing maintenance and precautions.

(1) Bearing installation.

Bearing maintenance has high requirements for installation during mechanical maintenance. Since the bearing does not have obvious external features in appearance, it can be installed in both forward and reverse directions, and it is extremely prone to reverse. In the bearing assembly process, the maintenance personnel are required to have a full understanding of the structure and installation requirements of the bearing, familiar with the safety technical points, and correctly install according to the design requirements. The circular-arc bearing includes "back-to-back" and "face-to-face" mounting methods. If the installation is wrong, it will cause axial turbulence and cannot be adjusted. If there is a lack of understanding of the bearing structure and installation, the tight ring facing the plane bearing When it is loosened, it is easy to reverse, resulting in failure to operate normally after assembly, causing greater malfunctions in mechanical equipment.

(2) Bearing defects.

In the process of mechanical maintenance, it is necessary to fully understand the technical specifications of the bearing code and model of the equipment, and try to rotate the original model to avoid using the substitute model. In actual work, some equipment often replaces the bearing, and the replaced bearing is very prone to burnout. This is usually caused by the difference in the type of bearing, the use of the substitute bearing, and the quality defect of the bearing itself. Due to the uneven quality of the bearings sold on the market, there is a phenomenon of sub-charging, long-term use of inferior bearing accessories, causing long-term wear on mechanical equipment, reducing the service life of the equipment. In mechanical maintenance, the rotary bearing should avoid rotating the long-term inventory of the accessories, and at the same time, the bearing is visually inspected and the function is tested to ensure the bearing quality.

The bearing plays an important role in the normal operation of the machine. By maintaining lubrication, it avoids foreign matter immersion and avoids overload and overspeed operation, which can prolong the service life.
