angular contact ball bearing 1

Angular contact ball bearings, namely centripetal thrust ball bearings, can be loaded with more steel balls, its radial load carrying capacity is greater than that of ordinary ball bearings, and it can also carry large axial load or pure axial load at the same time. Its permissible operating speed is close to that of deep groove ball bearings and its supporting rigidity is stronger, but it requires accurate mounting and is sensitive to the misalignment error of the axle. It generally does not need to carry radial load alone, while carrying radial load, additional axial load must be carried. This type of bearing has many variants and is widely used. It is often divided into three series with contact angles of 15°, 25° and 40°. The larger the contact angle, the higher the axial load carrying capacity. However, at high speed, it is appropriate to use a small contact angle. Most of these bearings are used in pairs for small span, rigid, double-supported shafts or precision spindles. When using them, carefully adjust the clearance, change the axial distance between the inner and outer rings of the bearings and then adjust the internal clearance of the bearings. At the same time, several sets of bearings can be mounted in parallel and a certain amount of preload can be applied, which can improve the rigidity of the bearing system.

A single bearing of this type can only support axial load in one direction and other bearings must be configured to support its additional axial load. Generally, two sets of bearings are mounted in pairs with the wide end faces of the outer ring facing each other (back to back) or the narrow end faces facing each other (face to face), and the back-to-back mounting bearing system has good rigidity. To facilitate mounting in pairs or groups, some bearing factories supply bearings in pairs, in groups of three sets and in groups of four sets. In this way, the same batch of bearings supplied has a good processing consistency, and the load bearing is more uniform in use, and the additional axial force is more completely compensated.

This type of bearing can be divided into two types: separable type and non-separable type. The separable type bearing is also called the magneto bearing because the installation conditions are limited and the outer ring or inner ring can be removed from the complete bearing set for separate installation. The variant of this type of bearing with a lock on the inner ring can adapt to higher rotational speeds.
