To check the performance of tapered roller bearings after installation, the following steps should be taken:
1. Pedal test: Mount the installed tapered roller bearings on the shaft, then rotate the shaft at a suitable speed using the foot pedal to check that the bearings rotate normally and that there is no abnormal noise or vibration.
2. Check the play: Turn the shaft by hand and observe if there is excessive clearance in the bearing. Gently shake the shaft to check that the bearing rotates freely on the shaft and to check that the clearance of the bearing is appropriate, too much or too little clearance can affect the life of the bearing.
3. Check the temperature: Under normal use, the operating temperature of tapered roller bearings is usually around 60°C. Therefore, after the bearing has been running for a period of time, use an infrared thermometer or a thermometer to determine whether the temperature of the bearing is within the normal range.
4. oil lubrication check: for the lubrication mode for oil lubrication tapered roller bearings, should check whether the oil is enough and add new oil in time, and also check the oil cleanliness and oil products are in accordance with the regulations.
5. Visual inspection: Check that there is no damage to the outside of the bearing, such as scratches, cracks, rust, etc. Also check that the bearing parts are correctly fitted, such as seals, gaskets, etc.
6. Check the sliding performance: If the bearing is a tapered roller bearing with a sliding seal, check that the sealing is good and carry out a leakage test to determine whether the seal can remain sealed under a certain pressure.
7. Static Load Test: Mount the tapered roller bearing on the equipment, apply a certain load and speed, run continuously for a certain period of time, and evaluate the bearing's static load capacity and fatigue strength according to the test results.
Note: The above test steps are some of the more common methods, the specific test methods should be adjusted based on the working environment of the bearing, load range and other factors.
