Tapered Rollers with Logarithmic Profile
Tapered rollers used in tapered roller bearings are conical in shape and mate with the tapered raceways of the inner and outer rings, referred to as the cone and cup. When the tapered roller is in contact with raceways, excessive pressure peaks occur at the ends of the contact rectangles. They are called edge loading. Roller and/or raceway profiles are usually crowned to prevent edge loads. But, the most optimized profile is that with logarithmic curve profile. The profile gives an axially uniform pressure distribution. The logarithmic profile of the roller provides a modified line contact that allows the bearing to carry large radial loads. It also effectively reduces the stress concentration of the raceway and improves the service life of the bearing.

5. Material: high carbon chromium bearing steel 100Cr6, GCr15, GCr15SiMn, Carburizing Steel G20Cr2Ni4A, Imported Ovako steel or TIMKEN steel, according to customer's requirement.
6. If the roller diameter is large, forging processing will be necessary.
